NEW YORK (February 26, 2016) – FlightSafety International announces that it will offer training for the Airbus Helicopters EC145 using a new Level D qualified simulator located at the Helicopter Flight Training Center, a Metro Aviation company, in Shreveport, Louisiana. This is the first simulator of its kind in North America. It was developed in conjunction with Metro Aviation. Training is scheduled to begin later this year. Initial and recurrent training will be provided by FlightSafety under its Part 142 single certificate.
“We look forward to providing Airbus Helicopters EC145 operators with the highest quality training that meets their specific operational needs and mission requirements,” said Daniel MacLellan, Senior Vice President, Operations. “They will benefit from the advanced highly integrated systems and features FlightSafety has developed specifically for use in our Level D qualified helicopter simulators.”
The new FlightSafety FS1000 simulator built for the Airbus Helicopters EC145 is equipped with the company’s industry-leading VITAL 1100 visual system, CrewView collimated glass mirror display, and 60 inch electric motion base.
The unprecedented fidelity offered by the VITAL 1100 visual system significantly enhances training by providing highly detailed mission specific imagery with vastly improved scene content and exceptional environmental effects. The CrewView glass mirror increases visual clarity and brightness while eliminating image degradation and distortion in the critical boundary areas inherent in many traditional display systems.
Training for the Airbus Helicopters H135 is currently offered by FlightSafety in Dallas. Simulators for the Airbus Helicopters AS350 B2 and H135 are now available in Shreveport. FlightSafety’s new Learning Center in Denver, Colorado will provide training for the Airbus Helicopters AS350 B3, H130 and H135 as well as the Bell 407GXP using Level D qualified simulators.
