FlightSafety Promotes Dann Runik to Executive Director, Advanced Training Programs

NEW YORK (January 16, 2014) – FlightSafety International announces that Dann Runik has been promoted to Executive Director, Advanced Training Programs.

“Dann has the experience and expertise required to develop in-depth, highly effective training programs for a wide variety of complex subjects,” said David Davenport, Senior Vice President. “Our Customers and Teammates appreciate and value the quality and effectiveness of the programs Dann has and will continue to develop. We are fortunate to have him on the FlightSafety team.”

In this new role, Dann will work closely with FlightSafety’s Customers and the aircraft manufacturers the company serves. Together they will identify and define specific requirements. He will then oversee the design and development of new advanced training programs in conjunction with FlightSafety’s courseware engineers, designers, and other subject matter experts.

Dann joined FlightSafety in 2004 and most recently served as Manager of OEM and Customer Relations at the Learning Center in Savannah, Georgia. He also serves as an instructor for Gulfstream aircraft and works with Gulfstream Aerospace on issues of procedure and courseware development, and other special projects. Dann joined Northwest Airlines (now Delta) in 1983 where he currently serves as a 747-400 Captain. Dann previously flew for Flying Tigers and worked on the Space Shuttle program as a Staff Engineer at Rockwell International.

Dann holds ATP Multi-Engine, Turbojet Flight Engineer, and A&P Mechanic licenses. He has type ratings on a wide variety of Boeing, Gulfstream, and McDonnell Douglas aircraft, and has logged more than 22,000 flight hours to date. Dann also participated in Enhanced Vision, Artificial Vision, and Low Noise/Steep angle approach experiments at the NASA Langley Research Center. He graduated from Northrop University in Inglewood, California, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology and Aircraft Maintenance.
