LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (July 18, 2006) – FlightSafety International announced today that its Hawker 800XP full flight simulator located at the London/Farnborough Training Center has been qualified by the European Joint Aviation Authority.
“The JAA qualification of our Hawker 800XP simulator is an important milestone for FlightSafety,” said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO, FlightSafety International. “It significantly expands and enhances the service available to the growing number of aviation professionals in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa that train at our London Farnborough Training Center.
The FlightSafety designed and manufactured Hawker 800XP simulator is equipped with a Honeywell Avionics suite as well as EGPWS, ACAS II v7, millibar pressure settings and 8.33kHz spacing on the communication radios to meet European Air Space operating requirements.
FlightSafety will continue to add new training programs at Farnborough this year. Operators of aircraft manufactured by Raytheon aircraft will soon have access to new advanced technology Hawker 400XP and Hawker 850XPI aircraft simulators. FlightSafety’s Bombardier Q400 aircraft simulator, scheduled for installation at the center this fall, will feature a flight deck that is specific to European operators. A Cessna Excel simulator, outfitted with both a UNSI-K and Honeywell FMS and equipped to meet European Air Space operating requirements, will also be installed by year-end.
A new innovative training program and flight simulator, designed specifically for the Citation Mustang aircraft, will be available in 2007. The robust training program will include distance learning courses and the industry’s first Mentor Services program. FlightSafety’s first helicopter simulator for commercial use in Europe will also be available next year. The Sikorsky S-92 full motion simulator will be designed to replicate the exact flying characteristics of the aircraft and will be equipped with FlightSafety’s 200 X 60 degree VITAL visual system.
FlightSafety’s London Farnborough Training Center can accommodate up to 15 full flight simulators and has the capacity to train 3,800 aviation professionals annually. The Center currently offers training on aircraft manufactured by Cessna, Gulfstream, Raytheon and Saab.
