FlightSafety’s New Bombardier Q400 Electric Motion and Control Loading Equipped Simulator Receives FAA Level D Qualification

Five FlightSafety Q400 simulators now in service with a sixth scheduled to be qualified in the first quarter of 2008

LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, NEW YORK (October 16, 2007) – FlightSafety International announced today that its new Bombardier Q400 aircraft full flight simulator has received Level D qualification from the United States Federal Aviation Administration.

This is the second Bombardier Q400 simulator to enter service at the company’s Seattle, Washington Learning Center and the fifth FlightSafety designed and manufactured Q400 simulator to be qualified to the highest standards. FlightSafety’s London Farnborough Training Center offers two Q400 simulators and the Learning Center in Toronto, Canada is scheduled to receive qualification for its second Q400 simulator in the first quarter of 2008. This will bring FlightSafety’s fleet of Bombardier Q400 aircraft simulators to six.

This new simulator is equipped with FlightSafety’s industry leading electric motion and control loading system. Simulators equipped with this technology offer the highest level of aircraft fidelity, enhanced performance and increased availability due to a reduction in maintenance requirements and increased reliability. The simulators also offer environmental advantages compared to previous generation devices as they produce less heat, lower levels of ambient noise and provide a safer environment due to the elimination of the risks often associated with hydraulic fluids as well as our dependency on petroleum products. It also features FlightSafety’s advanced VITAL visual system offering highly detailed, texture enhanced scenes and excels in its realistic presentation of both routine and critical weather conditions.

The Seattle Learning Center now offers six flight simulators including four for aircraft manufactured by Bombardier. Simulator-based training is also available in Seattle for the Jetstream 31/32 and Metro III aircraft.
