Gulfstream G500 Training Underway at FlightSafety’s Savannah Learning Center

NEW YORK (October 15, 2018) – FlightSafety International announces that training for the Gulfstream G500 aircraft is underway at the Savannah Learning Center.

“We have worked closely with Gulfstream to develop and deliver a comprehensive, technologically advanced training program designed specifically to meet the needs of Gulfstream G500 operators,” said David Davenport, Executive Vice President.

The 23 day Gulfstream G500 and G600 common type rating course uses two full-motion simulators, three new advanced Graphical Flight-deck simulators, which are FAA Level 4 qualified Flight Training Devices, and classrooms offering an interactive Matrix cockpit.

The FlightSafety FS1000 simulators feature the new CrewView collimated glass mirror displays that provide superior distortion-free optical performance with greater clarity, sharpness, and brightness. Training enhancements also include a whole-Earth environment and worldwide database that incorporates latest terrain information with satellite imagery.

Adding to the Matrix cockpit desktop trainer in FlightSafety’s classrooms is a fully functioning visual system, HUD/EVS, and sidestick controller that enhances scenario-based training experiences. The FAA Level 4 Flight Training Devices also feature a visual system, HUD/EVS and pilot sidestick.

While the length of initial training is similar to other programs, the footprint of the course has changed significantly. Pilots can expect 46 hours of classroom instruction, 18 hours of Systems Integration, 8 hours in the Flight Training Devices and 24 hours of simulator time prior to the check ride. This is a reduction in classroom time and an increase in SIT and scenario-based training.
